New Government RFID Privacy and Data Security Standards to be discussed at Chicago Industry Pre-Conference
Our pre-conference is focused on what the government is doing in the RFID space, and why it is relevant to your business. Among the speakers scheduled is a representative from NIST, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Tom Karygiannis. He is one of the primary authors of a draft report that will provide guidance to federal departments and agencies using, or planning to use, RFID. The guidance addresses the results of NIST's study of potential privacy and data security risks associated with the use of RFID, and recommendations on how to mitigate those risks.
Usually, the drafts are posted on the NIST website, and email responses or feedback are reviewed. At the Pre-conference in Chicago next week, you will actually have an opportunity to meet him and discuss the draft report in person. A truly unique opportunity!
It's not too late to register to attend the RFID Journal Industry Summits, September 26 - 28 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort in Chicago.
